The Carlson School of Management – MBA Programs Profile

The Carlson School of Management is located at the University of Minnesota, on the west bank of the Mississippi River. With nearly 5,000 students, 7 degree programs, 104 tenure-track faculty, and more than 50,000 alumni in a network that spans the globe, the school is a world-class educational institution.

Situated in the heart of one of America's most dynamic metropolitan areas, the state-of-the-art Carlson School building is a gateway between the academic and business worlds.

Founded in 1919 with 14 faculty members and a student enrollment of 88, the school received accreditation from the AACSB in 1963, one of the first 20 business schools in the nation to be awarded this distinction.

Research by Carlson School faculty continually expands the knowledge frontier in a wide variety of disciplines. The Academy of Management Journal has ranked Carlson School faculty 7th for research productivity, and a number of our programs are ranked in the top 10 nationally for the number of articles published in leading industry journals.

Since its founding, the Carlson School has been an active player in one of the country's most vibrant business communities, and the generosity of many business partners has helped the school grow over the years. Most notable among these benefactors is Curt Carlson, successful entrepreneur, alum, and namesake of the school.
