A growing number of business podcasts are popping up—Knowledge@Wharton, BusinessWeek, and Advertising Age all now produce regular audio broadcasts that are available through iTunes, Apple’s music-store software. But it is hard to tell, beyond the recognisable brand names, which might be worth listening to.

One surprisingly good source is MBA Podcaster, where a pair of radio journalists introduce reports on various aspects of applying to join MBA programmes—from taking the GMAT test to working on quantitative skills before starting at a school. The podcasts feature interviews with professors and students as well as with experts on how to apply for an MBA and how to find funds. They last long enough to cover each topic in some detail—the shortest clocks in at almost 11 minutes; the longest at over 30. One problem for MBA Podcaster, though, may be its apparent independence: with no obvious backer and only a few ads scattered around its website, it is not clear how it can make enough money to keep on running.

MBA Podcaster announces the launch of its podcast service to deliver relevant information and advice through weekly audio segments for those planning to apply for a Master in Business Administration.

MBA Podcaster is filling the information gap that surrounds MBA applicants. Unlike high school seniors applying to college, MBA applicants are not surrounded by a web of information from various sources such as guidance counselors, visiting deans, fellow applicants and alumni to answer questions and direct them toward a successful admission process. MBA applicants lack this community of resources and information to guide them in their application endeavors and help them make the right decisions. MBA Podcaster bridges this information gap by providing relevant and insightful stories each week.

MBA Podcaster podcasts are comprised of a series of interviews and discussions with authorities in the MBA arena including business school deans, admission directors, admission consultants, corporate recruiters, current students and alumni. The moderator/host leads the discussion and draws conclusions to help the listening audience plan effectively for their pursuit of an MBA. The podcasts can be accessed online at the listeners' convenience and downloaded onto portable devices for listening on the go.

MBA Podcaster is dedicated to providing listeners with accurate and unbiased information. Therefore MBA Podcaster is independent and unaffiliated with any single MBA program, MBA-related service provider, admission consultant or organization.
